we seal our counters with low-voc penetrating sealers and pure carnauba wax. this allows the concrete to perform according to its inherently durable nature, totally heat-proof and chip resistant. some acidic spills, if left overnight, can cause slight discoloration. we feel this is preferable to impenetrable coatings that can scratch, chip, and flake and are not resistant to heat. stains are easily subdued, but not always eliminated, with a quick re-application of carnauba wax.
nearly any color can be created. we use only non-toxic oxide-based pigments, providing a full spectrum of color without harmful chemicals.
